Niagara's jobless rate jumps higher
Niagara saw a big jump in its unemployment rate in July.
Stats Canada releasing the latest labour force survey this morning.
Nationally the rate dropped to a four-decade low to 5.8 per cent as the country posted a net gain of 54,100 positions.
In Niagara however, we jumped from June's 6.3 per cent to 7 per cent for the month of July.
Provincially the jobless rate dropped to 5.4 per cent from June's rate of 5.9.
