Ontario Liberal Party to name businessman as candidate for Niagara Falls
The Ontario Liberals have chosen a businessman to represent them in the Niagara Falls riding.
Dean Demizio will be officially acclaimed as the official candidate of the Ontario Liberal Party for Niagara Falls tomorrow night.
He was born and raised in Niagara Falls before heading to University of Guelph to earn his Bachelor of Science.
Since then he has worked in pharmaceutical sales, opened a branch of State Farm Insurance in Fort Erie, and served as Vice Chair for the United Way of Greater Fort Erie, president of the Greater Fort Erie Chamber of Commerce, and a board member of the Fort Erie Multicultural Centre.
The official nominee meeting is tomorrow night at 7 p.m. at the Best Western Plus Cairn Croft on Lundy's Lane.
Friday night, the IceDogs open their best of seven quarter-final series on home ice versus the Generals, some tickets are still available. The 'Dogs have also announced a bus trip to Oshawa for game three and four.
A very successful 2017-2018 IceDogs regular season came to an end Saturday afternoon with a 6-3 win over Mississauga. A sellout St Patty's Day Meridian Centre crowd watched Niagara record their 35th win of the season for a total of 80 points in the OHL's Eastern Conference as Johnny Corneil lead the way with a goal and two assists.
Kirill Maksimov enjoyed a four point night while Johnny Corneil and Ben Jones each scored a pair in the IceDogs 6-3 Friday night win in Erie. With the win, Niagara has now secured home ice advantage in their first round playoff series with Oshawa.
