PSAC president backs MP Charlie Angus for NDP leadership

Northern Ontario MP Charlie Angus says he's pleased to have the support of organized labour in the race for the NDP leadership.

The president of the Public Service Alliance of Canada issued an open letter this week, backed by several other labour leaders, saying no one can question Angus's commitment to the party's ''traditional values.''

The labour movement has long been a mainstay of New Democrat support.

Angus says the leadership race will come down to whose message is resonating most with their base.
