Public meeting tonight to discuss Wainfleet exotic animal bylaw

Wainfleet town councillors will debate a new exotic animal control bylaw at a public meetign tonight.

Mayor April Jeffs telling the Standard it strikes the proper balance.

The owners of the Ringtail Ranch and Rescue worked on the bylaw with the town and are pleased with the outcome.

The need for an exotic animal bylaw was highlighted last year when a concerned resident posted a picture on social media of a lion from the Ranch that was spotted across the street from the property.

Ranch owners Joni Cook and Mark Drysdale insisted it was under their control the entire time.

    A night of deflections went the way of the visitors as the IceDogs fell 6-3 to visiting Owen Sound. In the 'Dogs first game in a 6 game in 9 days stretch, the home side was unable to hold a third period one goal lead.
