Scammers pose as officials from Grimsby Fire Department

The Niagara Regional Police are warning of a new scam making the rounds - this time fraudsters are posing as officials from the Grimsby Fire Department.

Homeowners say they have received calls from people claiming to be collecting donations for a 'fire fighter book.'

This is completely untrue - the Grimsby Fire Department does not ask for donations over the phone.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Niagara Regional Police Service at 905-945-2211 extension 5400.
