UPDATE | St. Catharines man arrested in connection with suspicious death

A man has been arrested in relation to a suspicious death in St. Catharines.

A concerned citizen called police after discovering 60 year old Glenn Joseph Hewer lying injured on the sidewalk in the Queeston Street area just before 1:30 a.m. on Friday morning.

He was taken to hospital where he died.

36 year old Shaun Joseph Fitzsimons of St. Catharines was arrested yesterday and now faces a second degree murder charge.

Fitzsimons will appear in court for a bail hearing today.
