Lottery win for a Niagara woman

A Niagara Falls woman plans to buy a sports car with her Christmas Eve lottery win.

Jeannine Rogers is celebrating after winning $100,000 with ENCORE.

She matched six of seven winning numbers on her ENCORE selection.

Rogers was at the store to check a few of her lottery tickets. “I had checked online ahead of time and thought I had a winning ticket. I saved that ticket for the retailer to check last. I wanted her to double check to be absolutely certain that this was a $100,000 winner. After the retailer scanned the ticket, OLG called the store. I tried to remain calm but I was in disbelief.”

Plans are already underway for her big win.

She says she saw a cute little sports car the other day and thought to myself, ‘Hmmm, I would love to have that car.’ Maybe now I will go get it – in silver!” she laughed. “I also plan to buy some new living room furniture – a couple of comfy recliners for my husband and I would be fantastic. Winning the lottery is incredible! I am searching for the right words to explain the feeling but I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around what just happened.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Avondale on Stanley Avenue in Niagara Falls.
