Man accused of killing 19 year old Brock student plans to plead not guilty
The man accused of killing a 19 year old Brock University student in Hamilton has a preliminary hearing set for October.
19 year old Dale King, who is being held at the Niagara Detention Centre in Thorold appeared in court by video today.
His lawyer telling the CBC his client plans to plead not guilty.
King faces a second-degree murder charge in the death of Yosif Al-Hasnawi, a so-called "Good Samaritan" who was shot and killed near his central Hamilton mosque in early December.
Hamilton Police say Al-Hasnawi was shot when he tried to intervene when an older man was being accosted by two people.
A judicial pre-trial will start in King's case on March 29th.
20 year old James Matheson is also charged in the case as an accessory after the fact to murder.
