Man facing 34 charges relating to theft could have more problems on the way

Police in Hamilton, Niagara, and Brantford are working together to determine if more charges should be laid against a man facing 34 charges relating to ATM thefts, stolen cars, and arson.

A week ago, a man reversed his truck into the front of an EZ Mart on Barton Street East and attempted to steal the ATM before fleeing.

Back in late February, police and fire crews were called to the Race Trac Gas Bar in the same area after an unoccupied vehicle was found fully engulfed in flames inside the carwash.

Police have now linked 24 year old Ben Curley to both incidents as well as other offences including stolen vehicles and stealing gas.

So far his charges include two counts of break and enter, 9 counts of prohibited driving, 6 counts of theft under $5,000, two counts of theft over $5,000, five counts of failing to remain at the scene of a collision, one count of possession of fentanyl, one count of dangerous driving, two counts of arson, and two counts of vehicle theft.
