Man rescued from cargo ship in Port Colborne
A medical emergency onboard a ship stationed in Port Colborne in the Welland Canal.
Fire officials and EMS were called to the Algoma Enterprise docked at Lake Road at 10 o'clock this morning where a man fell and slipped on the deck.
The man from Newfoundland lost consciousness.
Emergency officials called the fire department for assistance getting the man off the ship.
Fire Chief Tom Cartwright says a large crane was sitting beside the ship and they used it to lower the basket with the man to the ground.
The man has been taken to Welland Hospital.
