Man wanted in connection with Niagara Falls shooting turns himself in

The man wanted by police for a charge of attempted murder in connection with a shooting in Niagara Falls has turned himself in.

Police began searching for 26 year old Joseph Douglas Minty after a 49 year old man was shot outside of Whiskey Nick's Texas Bar & Grill on Drummond Road last Wednesday.

Officers believe the older man's injuries were not life threatening.

Yesterday Minty turned himself in and is now facing several additional charges:

- Pointing a Firearm
- Discharge Firearm with Intent to Wound, Endanger Life 
- Careless Use of a Firearm
- Possession of a Restricted or Prohibited Firearm without Holding a License
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Carry Concealed Weapon
- Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

Minty is being held in custody for a bail hearing scheduled for today.
