Mayor of Niagara Falls completes final chemotherapy treatment
Jim Diodati has completed his cancer treatments.
The Mayor of Niagara Falls says he has completed his 12th and final chemotherapy session and a pick in his arm that was used to administer his medication for Hodgkin's lymphoma has now been taken out.
The 53 year old politician rang the bell at the Walker Cancer Centre to mark the end of his treatments.
Diodati lost just under 50 pounds, and a lot of his hair.
He says he's been on a journey and even when terrible things happen, great things can come from them.
He says he wouldn't wish it on anybody, but being diagnosed has changed his life for the better.
Diodati says he's looking forward to getting back into a normal routine.
