A special memorial will be held this week for four Niagara residents who died in a horrific fire two years ago.
This Saturday, November 17th the families of Tammy and Eva Burd, Samantha and Joshua Zuvic are inviting family and friends to a memorial ceremony at the East Village Park in Port Colborne.
The memorial will celebrate their lives and officially unveil memorials which have been put up at the Vale Centre.
Trees have also been planted at the park on Fares Street thanks to generous GoFund Me donations along with a 10 year scholarship at Port High.
The four family members died in an accidental house fire in December 2016.
The landlord has since been charged for not having smoke alarms in the home on Nickel Street.
Tami's husband Joe Zuvic says in lieu of flowers or teddy bears, food donations will be collected for Port Cares or financial donations which will go to Fire Prevention.
37 year old Tammy, her children, 15-year-old old Samantha, and two-year-old Joshua, and her grandmother Eva Burd died of smoke inhalation.
Burd's husband and an uncle, who also lived in the home, managed to escape the flames.
The memorial will start Saturday at 1pm.
