Money for transit in Niagara
Niagara transit got a big boost today thanks to the federal government.
Over $15 million will be invested across 8 municipalities to support a number of projects including clean energy buses.
St. Catharines and Niagara Falls receiving the largest share of new money.
$8.7. million and $3.4 million respectively.
Six other municipalities as well as the region itself will also receive federal funds:
Welland - $1,498,000
Thorald - $626,000
Port Colborne - $96,000
Niagara Region - $344,000
Fort Erie - $149,000
