Mother, son in hospital after allegedly being hit by dad's vehicle
A seven-year-old boy is in life-threatening condition and his mother is also in hospital after they were allegedly run over by the child's father in the driveway of their home in Brampton, Ont.
Peel Regional Police say they man in his early 40s has been arrested and charged with impaired driving.
Const. Bancroft Wright says police were called to the scene at 8:37 a.m.
He alleges the man was backing up from his driveway in the same complex, drove in a circle and into his wife's driveway.
Wright alleges the man backed up with driver's door open, struck the pair and then ran over them before crashing into the next-door neighbour's unit.
He says the vehicle has damaged the neighbour's house so badly that the integrity of the house will have to be assessed.
