Motorized boats may be allowed back on Welland Recreational Waterway
The city of Welland wants to hear from residents about a proposal to allow motorized boats back on the Welland Recreational Waterway.
In 2005, city council passed the Go Quiet bylaw prohibiting motorized boats on the old canal.
But now councillors are revisiting the ban after some residents asked them to consider other potential uses for the waterway.
The city is holding three public meetings, March 11th, 16th and 28th at the Welland Community Wellness Complex.
An online survey will also be available on the city’s website beginning tomorrow.
