MTO proposing diamond interchange for QEW at Glendale
The Ministry of Transport will pitch a plan today at the Niagara Region for a diverging diamond interchange on the QEW at Glendale.
MTO officials will discuss the plan with members of the region's public works committee for the new road design, which is one option for improving traffic flow on that part of the highway.
The design would move vehicles to the left side of the road to exit onto Glendale.
Officials say it improves safety because vehicles would no longer have to cross multiple lanes to get to the off ramp.
The region is also considering putting a roundabout at the corner of Glendale and York Road in the hopes of improving traffic flow there.
