Niagara Falls woman who died in fiery QEW crash was an artist and environmentalist

The 34-year-old woman who died in a fiery crash on the QEW late Thursday night, was Niagara Falls artist Elena Kulikova.

Just last weekend she hosted an art event in St. Catharines that helped raise money for Plastic Oceans Canada, an organzation that helps reduce the pollution of the ocean.

At least seven other people were injured in the crash on the QEW near Trafalgar Road Thursday night, believed to be caused by a tractor trailer roll over.

Kulikova was reportedly on the way to see her boyfriend in Markham.

The OPP confirmed Kulikova was found in a car pinned between a concrete barrier and a tractor trailer.

A GoFundMe has been set up in her honour, with a portion of the proceeds going to Plastic Oceans Canada.
