Niagara Regional Police officer accused of attempted murder scheduled in court today
A Niagara Regional Police officer accused of attempted murder in a cop-on-cop shooting is scheduled in court today.
Shots rang out back in November while police were on scene of an earlier crash investigation in Pelham.
Constable Nathan Parker was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Last month, we learned the Special Investigations Unit had charged Detective Sergeant Shane Donovan with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and assault with a weapon.
In a release, Director of the SIU Tony Loparco says he has reasonable grounds to believe that criminal offences were committed.
