Niagara's jobless rate inches up
Statistics Canada releasing the March job numbers and nationally they look pretty good.
The agency says the economy generated 32,300 net new jobs last month in a rush of full time work that helped hold the federal unemployment rate at a record low.
Stats Can reporting the rate held steady last month at 5.8 percent.
Locally, the Niagara area rate is up slightly from 5.2 percent in February to 5.6 percent last month.
Provincially the rate is unchanged at 5.5 percent.
