Niagara students strut their stuff at skills competition

Students from the District School Board of Niagara are coming home from the Skills Ontario competition with some new hardware.

The talented group was competing in various fields in hopes of landing an invite to the Skills Canada National Competition happening in Halifax later this month.

Gold winner include Michael Shannon (Stamford Collegiate, Niagara Falls) for hairstyling, Myles Jackson (Port Colborne High School) for welding, and Aiden Hawkins and Hannah Walker (Port Colborne High School) for Global Information Systems.

Mitch Black (Port Colborne High School) takes silver in Automotive Service, while Cody Lau (St. Catharines Collegiate) also gets silver in baking.

Michael Shannon and Myles Jackson will be heading to the national competition on May 28-29.
