No drunk driving charges in Niagara, New Year's Eve
Police pleased with the results of their annual New Year's Eve R.I.D.E. blitz.
Checkpoints were set up in both Welland and Niagara Falls.
Only a couple drivers were asked to take a breathalyzer and both passed.
Police say officers noticed a large number of designated drivers and cabs shuttling people to and from New Year's Eve festivities.
All toll, police conducted spot checks each week during the month of December , making three impaired driving arrests and issuing double the amount of three day suspensions.
