No Fixed Address this weekend
An event to give Niagara residents a little perspective when it comes to homelessness returns this weekend.
No Fixed Address asks people to live in their cars for one full day - an every day reality for many people in our region.
Since 2012 the event has raised over $300,000 and organizers hope to bring in $48,000 this year for the YWCA Niagara Region.
Executive Director of YWCA Niagara Elisabeth Zimmermann notes the funds are desperately needed.
"Well we've actually been sitting over occupancy across the homeless system in Niagara for the past two years, so we're averaging 110%."
No Fixed Address has also changed venues - it will be held at General Motors on Glendale Ave in St. Catharines starting tomorrow.
