NPCA interim board calls for freeze on hiring, firing, promotion and organization changes
The new interim board of directors for the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority met for more than three hours behind closed doors discussing personnel and governance issues.
They emerged with three motions approved in open session.
The first is to direct staff to draft the terms of reference, to be approved by the board, regarding information of a governance committee comprised of four to five members, to review NPCA polices, roles and responsibilities.
Next the board approved a motion that staff add appointments to the CAO selection committee at the upcoming AGM.
The final motion is that the board directs the interim CAO to freeze all hiring, firing, promotion and changes to the organizational structure until a permanent CAO is appointed.
NOTL Regional Councillor Gary Zalepa also wanted the public to know that the board requested all the contracts, hires and obligations be provided to the interim board
