NRP asking the public to stay away from search effort at Lock 1 and 2 in St. Catharines
With the closure of the Welland Canal, members of the NRP's Marine Underwater Search and Recovery Unit will be out on foot searching the canal shoreline today and tomorrow from Lock 1 to Lock 2 for missing St. Catharines teen Quintin Bingley.
The 18 year old has been missing since May 26th and all efforts to locate him have been unsuccessful.
Police say his case has raised signficiant public attention and concern and numerous offers of assistance in the search, however police are cautioning the public about hazards associated with the canal.
They're asking the public refrain from attending the canal banks to aid in the search.
