NRP charge Richmond Hill man after fraud at Niagara-on-the-Lake hotel
A Richmond Hill man is facing charges after a hotel business in Niagara-On-The-Lake reported a guest using stolen credit card information.
Niagara Regional Police's Fraud Unit found a man ate at the restaurant and used complimentary services of the hotel to go online where he used stolen credit card information to buy and print gift certificates.
Those certificates were then used to obtain gift cards, which he used to pay for the restaurant bill and other merchandise.
On Monday police arrested 27 year old Shakib Gharibzada. He faces several charges including 2 counts of unauthorized use of credit card data, 4 counts of fraud under $5000, 1 count of fraud over $5000, 1 count of laundering proceeds of crime, 1 count of failing to comply with a probation.
