NRP make arrest made in cruise fraud investigation
After receiving several complaints about cruises offered by a Ridgeway resident, Niagara police began an investigation back in February,.
Over 140 complainants alleged that a woman solicited funds between August 2016 and February 2017 for multiple cruises that were either never booked or were not as advertised.
As a result of that investigation police arrested 48 year old Karen Gushue from Ridgeway yesterday.
She has been charged with one count of fraud over $5,000 ( defraud the public ) and one count of fraud under $5,000.
Gushue was held for a bail hearing and released with numerous conditions.
