NRP reminding you to catch a ride with a licenced transportation company
Niagara Police continue to crack down on unlicenced transportation companies.
The NRP's By-Law Enforcement & Licensing Unit says a project was launched in June of 2018 targeting the unlicenced industry which is providing transportation to people in Niagara.
A total of eleven charges were laid under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
Charges include pick up passenger for compensation without authority, no licence and a passenger failing to wear a seatbelt properly.
Police say they remain committed to public safety and will continue to target this illegal industry.
The public is reminded to take all precautions when using transportation services and this includes utilizing properly licence companies.
