Oakville man faces long list of charges after trying to evade Hamilton Police

A 28 year old man from Oakville is facing a long list of charges after trying to evade police.

On Wednesday morning at 12:30 a.m. Hamilton Police clocked a Lexus Crossover travelling on Highway 6 at 127 km/hr in a 80 km/hr zone.

Police tried multiple times to stop the vehicle, until eventually the driver pulled over to the shoulder of the road and was boxed in. The driver then tried to force his car between the police cruisers.

Once officers arrested the man they discovered evidence of alcohol and cannabis readily available to the driver.

Officers also learned the driver was wanted on two outstanding warrants from neighbouring police services relating to a violent crime and failing to appear in court for a previous alcohol-related driving offence.

The man has been charged with dangerous operation motor vehicle, flight from police, operate conveyance while impaired, operate conveyance equal or exceed 80 mg/100 ml, driving while under suspension, open alcohol in a motor vehicle, and operating a motor vehicle with cannabis readily accessible.
