Online conversation sparks worry at St. Catharines school
An online conversation sparking worry at Saint Francis Catholic Secondary School in St. Catharines.
Media Relations Specialist for the Niagara Regional Police Stephanie Sabourin tells us they are aware of a concerning online conversation, but officers do not have any information of an imminent threat to students or staff.
Students at the school were called into an assembly this morning with Principal Jim Whittard telling them that they were not in any danger.
School board officials say the alleged threat was spread over social media over the weekend, and it took on a life of its own.
The school has not been in lockdown and classes are running as usual at St.Francis.
