A metal cutout resembling a police officer will hit the streets today in the nation's capital.
The new recruit named ``Constable Scarecrow'' is meant to deter drivers from speeding.
Constable Scarecrow will alternate between two different locations where speeding is known to be a problem.
The idea came from a pilot project in British Columbia that found a significant drop in speeding when a cutout was installed by the road.
No word yet if we'll get one of these aluminum officers in Niagara any time soon
