Otters Too Much for IceDogs

Friday night, the IceDogs discovered why the Erie Otters are the top ranked team in the CHL. The Otters 10-1 win over Niagara kept Erie without a regulation  home loss in the 2016-2017 season.

The IceDogs would score the only goal in the opening period on a great, two way, individual effort by Ondrej Machala. His 8th of the year began as he stripped the puck from an Erie point man in the Dogs zone. Using his speed, Machala was able to beat the Otters goaltender with a well placed shot.

From there, Erie would take over with 29 second period shots and a record 8 goals. Colton Incze took over in goal in the third and faced 17 more shots. For the game, Erie outshot the Dogs 60-14.

The IceDogs remain in 8th place in the East, tied with Ottawa, one point clear of North Bay and three points behind Sudbury. The 67's, Battalion and Wolves all lost Friday night.

Sunday afternoon features a return match with Erie. 610 CKTB has all the action with the pre-game at 1:30.
