Over 70 tickets handed out in back to school safety blitz
Niagara Regional Police releasing the results of their 19th annual Back to School Traffic and Safety blitz.
All told, 73 tickets were issued yesterday and 89 warnings were given out for a variety of traffic offenses in and around school zones.
Of those tickets, 45 were for speeding, two for distracted driving and two for failing to wear a seatbelt.
The NRP says police will continue to conduct traffic safety programs in school zones throughout the school year targeting aggressive and distracted drivers.
