Parents in Guelph fear for their children's safety after flu claims the lives of two schoolmates
Some parents at a Guelph elementary school expressing fear after the recent deaths of two children from the flu.
12 year old Layna Vu Pollard and 7 year old Boyqara Dahi both attended Westminster Woods Public School.
Public Health officials trying to reassure parents the transmission did not go from one child to the other, adding even though both children attended the same school, there is no greater risk to other children at the school than any other place where people gather in large numbers.
As a precaution Public Health is offering additional flu vaccine clinics for parents who have yet to innoculate their children.
A third child, 10 year old Robert Smylie from Waterdown also fell victim to the flu earlier this month.
