Pedestrian killed in St. Catharines collision

A pedestrian has died after being hit on St. Paul Street West.

Niagara Regional Police closed the road between Fifth St. Louth and Seventh St. Louth shortly after the crash around 6 a.m. yesterday morning.

Officials believe a 33 year old man from Ajax was hit by a westbound 2017 Dodge Caravan driven by a 32 year old St. Catharines man.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries before being pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Dodge was not hurt.

Police are still investigating - witnesses are asked to give police a call at (905) 688-4111, extension 5500.
