Police launch social media campaign targeting outlaw motorcycle gangs

Provincial police will be featuring anti-gang posts on various social media platforms to raise awareness of the negative impacts of motorcycle gangs in our communities.

Police say the aim is to remind Canadians that outlaw motorcycle gangs are still a criminal threat.

This in response to what police believe is a trend of glamourizing motorcycle gangs in popular television shows in recent years.

According to Criminal Intelligence Service Canada Chief, Rob Gilchrist, outlaw motorcycle gangs have large distribution networks that connect to over half of all organized crime groups in Canada.
