Project Lifesaver going region wide

Project Lifesaver is expanding.

Regional police have partnered with Search and Rescue Niagara to expand the program region wide.

Participants registered with the program will be given a personalized bracelet to wear that emits an automatic tracking signal every second, 24 hours a day.

Project Lifesaver originally began in Welland and Pelham as a pilot project in 2013.

Starting early this year, the program will be available to individuals who are inclined to wander due to autism, brain injury or Alzheimers.
