Protests break out at West Bank and Gaza Strip
Hundreds of Palestinians are protesting this morning in cities across the West Bank and Gaza Strip against US President Donald Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
Demonstrators are burning posters of Trump and of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as well as American and Israeli flags.
Clashes between Israeli security forces and Palestinian protesters were reported at several locations.
In East Jerusalem, Palestinians have called a general strike today and are preparing for more mass protests tomorrow.
From a world security conference in Vienna, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson says Trump's declaration is merely recognizing reality, but he adds Jerusalem's final status is still for Israelis and Palestinians to work out.
