Protests planned for return of Brock professor

A public demonstration is planned for next week when a Brock professor  - found guilty of sexually harrassing a student in 2014 - returns to the classroom

Professor David Schimmelpenninck will teach a non-compulsory second year course starting Thursday.

The university says his return comes after an arbitrator concluded last month the professor should be allowed to return to class based on the collective agreement with its faculty association.

School officials say conditions have been put in place.

They also say Schimmelpenninck has completed coaching for respectful workplace practices.

A member of a social and environmental justice organization at Brock tells the Standard "people are pretty angry" and they're motivated to do something.
