Province reviewing taxes airports pay to cities
In the years ahead, you may be paying more to fly in and out of Canada's biggest airport.
That's the upshot of a measure buried in last week's provincial budget.
The province is set to review the taxes airports pay to the cities that host them.
Mississauga which hosts Pearson has been pushing for more money
Mayor Bonnie Crombie says she wants the fee paid to the city, of 94 cents per passenger bumped up to a $1.90 a passenger.
She says the money will be used to pay for much needed infrastructure improvements.
