Public health mergers not a done deal
Nothing is set in stone...that from Ontario Health Minister Christine Elliot about preliminary boundaries for mergers of public health agencies across the province.
Yesterday we heard that public health units in Niagara, Hamilton, and Haldimand-Norfolk will likely be amalgamated in the future when the number of health units in Ontario drops from 32 to 10.
Elliot says no final decisions have been made.
She says there were some discussions that happened by phone about the suggestion of boundaries, but they are only suggestions.
The Health Minister adds more consultation is needed with muncipalities before they make a final call
