Public meeting on draft rental bylaw in St. Catharines
St. Catharines residents are invited to weigh in on a draft bylaw tonight dealing with student rental properties.
The meeting gets underway at 6:00 at the Performing Arts Centre.
The draft bylaw will make it mandatory for landlords to apply for a license for rental properites with four units or less.
They will also have to submit plans for fire safety, waste removal and parking.
The move comes after a wild St. Patrick's Day party on Jacobsen Avenue over a year ago involving a couple thousand students.
You can also weigh in online at www.stcatharines.ca/RentalSurvey.
