Public meeting on Great Lakes
It's your chance to voice your concerns and ideas about our two Great Lakes.
The International Join Commission is holding a public meeting March 29th in St. Catharines to hear from you about what you think should be done to restore and protect our waterways.
The meeting comes as the White House is proposing slashing funding for Great Lakes initiatives, including pollution monitoring and clean up as well as tracking and combating invasive species.
According to a leaked document, the Trump Administration is considering cutting the funding by 97 percent from $300 million to just $10 million.
Canada's Great Lake Mayors have cried foul, with the Mayor of Leamington noting if preservation efforts are left up to us, with no help from the U-S, it would be like pushing a boulder up a hill.
The March 29th public meeting runs from 1:30 to 4:30 at the St. Catharines Rowing Club.
