Religious symbols bill up for discussion in Quebec
Consultation on a divisive proposed bill in Quebec begins today.
Bill 21 would ban some public sector employees, including teachers, police officers, and Crown prosecutors, from wearing religious symbols while at work.
Some of symbols named in the ban include the cross, hijab, and kippa turban.
Six days have been set aside for discussion.
Opponents of the bill argue that it is discriminatory.
