Remembering a racing legend in Niagara

Visitation services will be held today for the former owner of the Merrittville Speedway.

Bryant Irvine died over the Easter weekend following complications from surgery at age 81.

Host of Raceline Radio, which can be heard on 610 CKTB Erik Tomas says Irvine started racing in the early 50's and grew to love the sport.

Tomas says Irvine stepped forward and bought the Thorold racetrack to avoid it from being shutdown.

He says Irvine always had a smile on his face and was a man full of grace and class.

Friends and family are gathering for his visitation at Pleasantview Funeral Home, 2000 Merrittville Highway, 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm Thursday and 1-2 pm Friday.
