Repairing the Burgoyne Bridge
Crews are racing against Mother Nature to try and repair the Burgoyne Bridge in St. Catharines.
Expect slow downs near the bridge this week as crews will be trying to repair and repave the road.
Although there are no safety concerns, new weatherproofing and asphalt are needed before the region can officially close the book on the $95 million bridge.
The cost to fix the bridge will not be coming out of the region's pocketbook according to a report from Post Media - Niagara Region’s commissioner of public works told the paper these are workmanship issues that will be going through the contractor.
