Should GO trains continue past Niagara Falls, ON into New York?
There is a push to extend GO trains beyond Niagara Falls, Ontario into Niagara Falls, New York.
The American Mayor, Paul Dyster tells CKTB he wants the commuter trains to cross the border and hopefully attract people who work in Toronto to his community.
Dyster says the rail infrastructure is almost there and they now have a 43 million dollar train station that has the ability to host Canada Customs.
He says computers would still need to be installed, but the actual building is already there.
Dyster says Niagara University has opened a campus in Vaughn, On and it would be nice to transport faculty members and students into the GTA.
He's already reached out to Canada Border Services to see if the idea can get off the ground.
