Six-month long NRP investigation into fraud and theft leads to arrest

In January 2019 the Niagara Regional Police Central Fraud unit began an investigation into the theft of construction equipment from a West Lincoln business, Havana Group Incorporated.

Today the NRP arrested and charged 46 year old Steven Sardinha of Ancaster.

He is charged with the following offences:

 Theft over $5000

 Mischief over $5000

 Possession of Property Obtained by Crime 

 Uttering Threats 

 Obtaining by False Pretence

 Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence

Sardinha was held for a bail hearing at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines.
