Snapshot of how many Niagara residents are working and in which sector

The Niagara Workforce Planning Board has released a sneak peak of its 2019 Local Labour Market Planning report.

While the document isn't due until early next year, the board released a brief overview and is asking for public feedback on it.

Interim CEO of the Niagara Workforce Planning Board Adam Durrant says they want to hear from residents about what they would like to see addressed in the next report.

The report provides a snapshot of Niagara's labour force during the 2018 calendar year.

It shows that 76.5% of employed individuals who lived in Niagara in 2018 were employed full-time.

Durrant says the majority of people worked in 'sales and service occupations.'

He says the report also showed a need for skilled trade workers.
