Special weather statement issued for Niagara


A special weather statement has been issued for Niagara.

Environment Canada saying that heavy rain is possible today.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to move across the area late this morning into early this afternoon.

These showers and thunderstorms will have the potential to produce heavy rainfall accumulations in the 20 to 40 mm range, with locally higher amounts.

After the first band of precipitation, additional showers and thunderstorms will be possible late this afternoon into this evening.
